Hydroponic Wheat Grass
Here we will discuss how to grow whole wheat or overall grass, using ordinary soil media, or using hydroponic or no soil techniques. Wow, can wheatgrass be planted without soil? Of course! There have been many practices and besides being able to harvest crops in the form of wheat grass, which is actually healthy and very useful for health, especially detoxification (read more about the benefits of wheatgrass in product descriptions or summaries of the 50 benefits of wheatgrass we have adapted). In addition, wheat grass can be used as a green interior decoration with a minimalist room concept.
How to plant wheatgrass seeds:
Spread wheatgrass seeds in planting media. The planting media depends on your preferences, you can use the land or you want to use media other than soil, you can, by hydroponics. Using pure 100% sand isn't a problem. After spreading over the growing media, cover the wheatgrass seeds that have been stocked using the thin growing media. If you use rockwool you can cover the seeds using a little cocopeat (not closed too). You can use a special seedling tray for wheat grass for the container.
Flush the media where we have seeded wheat grass twice a day, every morning and evening. Special note, keep it away from standing water, not to stagnate, because wheat grass seeds are very susceptible to rot and mold / fungus. The growing media of wheatgrass seedlings must be moist, but NOT flooded.
Day I to Day III, cover media seeding with newspaper or cloth. If you use a special tray that we mentioned above, there is no need to use a newspaper anymore because the seedling tray has been accompanied by a lid. Avoid direct sunlight.
Days IV to Day V, the cover of the cloth or newspaper was opened, your wheatgrass seeds should have germinated or emerged wheat grass babies: D. Do not stay exposed to direct sunlight, but the cover is opened so that the tiny, tiny wheat grass seedlings can get light intake (don't get it directly).
Day VII to day IX, our plants have turned into wheat grass which can be consumed. Cut as needed and juiced.
Many ask, if wheatgrass is harvested, can it still be harvested again? The answer is yes it can be harvested again, after the leaves are cut, the leaves will grow again. But speaking of the efficacy, green color, smell, and its benefits, these factors will continue to decline as they are often harvested. That is, the first harvest results are more encouraging, the second harvest will be less green and benefits will also decrease. The third harvest goes down again. For this reason, many only want to harvest wheatgrass 1-2 times or 2-3 times, then replace it with new plants (new seedlings) to be harvested next.
Advanced tips for planting wheatgrass
Wheat grass will grow optimally in cold or soil temperatures and temperatures between 15-25 degrees Celsius. Hot temperatures can make the seeds planted quickly rot or mold. You can plant wheat grass in an air-conditioned room or a relatively shady place.
Wheat grass seeds do not need to be soaked in water before planting because it can cause decay or mold.
Set the seed density as you want. If you want to grow tightly, multiply the seeds planted in the container. The more and tight the seeds you plant, the more wheat grass will grow.
